Council of Irish Fashion Designers Fashion Show A/W 2017
I was delighted to be invited to become a member of the Council of Irish Fashion Designers this year. The CIFD is the brainchild of Eddie Shanahan, a long-term doyen of the Irish fashion industry and, amongst many other things, a passionate believer in craftsmanship and customer focus.

The CIFD promotes Irish designers at the premium end of the Irish fashion industry. An annual CIFD highlight is the CIFD Autumn/Winter fashion show. This year, the show was very kindly sponsored by Peter Mark and took place in their dazzling top floor studio at their headquarters on South William Street, Dublin, in front of an invited audience of fashion writers, critics and buyers. With the help of our terrific models, January, Kerrie, Julie and Nikki, BallyBoy Design showed a capsule collection of our Burren and Clifden capes, the Connemara wrap and one of our new designs, the Galway reversible cape.

CIFD Designer Carousel, Westbury Mall, Dublin 2
The CIFD Autumn/Winter 2017 show was followed by the Designer Carousel pop up shop in Dublin’s Westbury Mall in early September. This was part of the collaboration between the CIFD and The Doyle Collections prestigious Westbury Hotel, Dublin 2 and it’s ongoing support for Irish designers and makers.

What’s next for BallyBoy Design
Our designs were very well received at both events which provide the perfect backdrop to the major shows we are attending in the run up to Christmas which include Ballymaloe House, East Cork on the 18th and 19th of November (ballymaloefestivals.ie) and the annual National Craft Fair in Dublin from the 5th to the 10th of December at the RDS.
Two years on from the launch of BallyBoy Design in August 2015, I am delighted with the progress we have made and our growing band of loyal customers. Thank you all very much for your ongoing support, I hope you enjoy this short video of BallyBoy Design on the catwalk at the CIFD Autumn/Winter Show 2017.
